Most of the gypsies like Narikuravas, Irulas, Karuvars and others who live in Tamil Nadu and parts of Kerala used to be trappers and hunters, but hunting has now been banned. One of their traditional handicrafts is the making of bead garlands. The gypsies also earn their livelihood by selling combs and other handicrafts. (Source: IBN.Live: March 25, 2009)
